In the inn closest to the setting sun,
encounter the beauty of Sado and enjoy a truly relaxing stay.
Hotel Azuma was originally Restaurant Azuma, established in 1925 in Haneda, Aikawa, the town of the Gold Mine. Because of its westernmost location in the northern mountains of Sado Island, Hotel Azuma is affectionately called "the inn closest to the setting sun." The view from the bath and rooms of the sunset over the Nanaura Coast is simply amazing. A large, 23,000㎡ lawn garden features a stone tablet carved with a haiku poem written by the famous poet, Seishi Yamaguchi, during his stay here, and an old burial ground. Enjoy a stroll along the "Path of Sunset Glow" promenade leading to the seashore, and feel the relaxing ambiance.
Hotel Azuma's restaurant origins are evident in the delicious dishes made with Sado's finest ingredients, and prepared by skillful and reputable cooks. After dinner, enjoy a local traditional performing art demostration, and join our Sado Okesa dance workshop! Our open-air bath where you can "borrow" the great background seascape, and the elite guest rooms "Hatsune" and "Ginba," which are each equipped with a private open-air bath, are gaining popularity. A resort inn located on a hill facing the sea, Hotel Azuma offers excellent and delightful experiences.
